Guest Essays
Voices from across New Zealand on democratic reform, civic participation, and the future of our institutions. Democracy Reform NZ believes that democratic reform is enriched by diverse perspectives.
Guest essays should be 800 to 1,500 words, written in plain English, and focused on a specific aspect of democratic reform, civic participation, or institutional improvement in New Zealand. Constructive disagreement with our positions is welcome — we value evidence over consensus.
How to Submit
Email your essay to essays@democracyreform.nz. Every submission is read by the editorial team. We review for clarity, evidence, and relevance. We may suggest edits or ask for revisions before publication. You do not need to be a member of Democracy Reform NZ to contribute.
